Commercial Concrete
Sila Concrete Contracting is a commercial concrete contractor for property managers, general contractors and facility managers in Cambridge, Kitchener, Waterloo and the surrounding region. We pour and repair the items you actually tender: parking lot panels, barrier curbs, sidewalks, slabs on grade, loading dock aprons, ramps and interior floors.
We bring 12+ years and 600+ completed jobs to every site, along with WSIB coverage, liability insurance and mixes specified to CSA A23.1. You get a crew that reads drawings, respects your tenants and leaves the site safe at the end of every shift.
Each service below has its own page with scope, specifications and pricing factors.
New concrete parking areas, panel replacement and catch basin surrounds with drainage corrected.
Barrier curb, curb and gutter, and island curbs for plazas and lots, formed true to grade.
Storefront sidewalks, campus pathways and connecting walks with proper cross slope.
Slabs on grade, dock aprons, truck pads and machine bases for heavy loads.
Warehouse, shop and retail floors finished to specified flatness, our priority service.
Ground, densified and polished floors for showrooms, offices and warehouses.
Barrier-free ramps and landings for accessible entrances.
Footings, piers and foundation walls for commercial additions and new buildings.
Forming and placement for walls, columns, equipment pads and site features.
Shops and distribution buildings along the Highway 401 corridor need slabs, dock aprons and floor repairs with minimal downtime.
Plaza owners call us for curb, sidewalk and parking panel replacement while stores stay open.
Condo boards and property managers book walkway, step, ramp and garage work with resident notice built into the schedule.
Schools, places of worship and farms rely on us for sidewalks, ramps, equipment pads and barn floors.
Commercial clients need paperwork in hand before a crew shows up. We supply it, and we run sites the way your safety coordinator expects.

We build to CSA A23.1 for materials and construction and CSA A23.2 for test methods. Mix design, exposure class, air content and slump are checked against your specification before we order.
Concrete comes from a Concrete Ontario-certified ready-mix plant, and we coordinate cylinder sampling and field testing with your testing firm on pour day. When placement needs reach, we book concrete pumping in Cambridge and nearby so the trucks, pump and crew arrive in sequence.
Joint layout, dowels at construction joints and curing methods are planned up front, so the slab performs the way the engineer intended.
Your business can't stop for concrete, so we plan the work around it. Night and weekend pours, phased sections that keep entrances and fire routes open, and early starts before stores open are all standard options.
In winter we thaw frozen subgrade, enclose and heat the work area, and protect fresh concrete with insulated blankets to meet CSA A23.1 cold-weather requirements. That keeps interior slabs and urgent repairs moving through the off-season.
We work under Ontario's Construction Act, including the 10% holdback and the prompt payment rules. In general, an owner pays a proper invoice within 28 days, and a contractor pays its subtrades within 7 days of being paid.
Progress billing follows agreed milestones, and every change order is priced and signed in writing before the extra work starts. There are no surprise invoices at the end of the job.
These examples show the kind of commercial work we take on and the constraints that usually come with it.
Damaged barrier curb and storefront sidewalk panels are replaced in phases so every tenant keeps a clear entrance. Pours are scheduled early in the morning, before stores open.
A cracked dock apron is removed and replaced with a thicker, reinforced slab and doweled joints. The pour is planned over a weekend to keep shipping running.
Heaved walkways are replaced and a barrier-free ramp is added at the main entrance. Residents get advance notice and a protected alternate route during the work.
Yes. We schedule night and weekend pours to suit your operations, within municipal noise by-law hours or under an exemption where the city grants one. Our crews bring site lighting and set up traffic control and barricades before the first truck arrives.
